Dorian Gray
Dorian Gray sees the return of Matthew Bourne to the Sadler’s Wells Theatre
Bourne tells the story of Dorian Gray through a darkly seductive dance theatre performance. A story full of art and politics, Dorian Gray is one of Oscar Wilde’s classic gothic fables. The central character, Dorian Gray, is an “it boy” among London’s beautiful people and in his pursuit of pleasure he makes a pact with the devil.
Famous for its dance theatre, Sadler’s Wells is the perfect place to watch Matthew Bourne’s production. The atmosphere builds as the dramatic performance unfolds. In this production of Dorian Gray, Matthew Bourne reunites the team that produced the award-winning hit Play Without Words. Lez Brotherston (Designer), Terry Davies (Composer) and Paule Constable (Lighting Designer) helped to make Play Without Words a triumph, and it is expected that Dorian Gray will achieve similar success.
Dorian Gray tickets are expected to sell out fast. The show opens at the Sadler’s Wells theatre in July 2009.
