The Story of Dirty Dancing
The Dirty Dancing theatre show is based on the musical film Dirty Dancing of 1998, starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, but with an unexpected extra twist. The scenes take place on a family holiday to Kellerman's, a holiday centre in 1963 America. The sense of a culture about to change hovers just under the surface as Frances 'Baby' Houseman falls for a handsome and exciting dance teacher, Johnny Castle.
Facing the harsh realities of life for the first time, Baby's sheltered world falls away and she has to deal with family conflict, prejudice, and the seedier side of life and relationships. Through it all, Baby discovered love and life as she learns how to dance with Johnny for a professional dance display. Intense and exciting, the dancing is a major feature of the Dirty Dancing show and compliments the fabulous score, featuring the hits such as, Time Of My Life, Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby and Do You Love Me? First dance. First love.
