Developer Ballymore has appointed Radisson Edwardian Hotels (REH) to operate a 4-star, 169-bedroom hotel at its 'New Providence Wharf' development in London's Docklands. The riverside hotel, which will be operated by REH under a long-term management contract, is due to open in September 2007 and will fulfil the increasing demand for luxury accommodation and facilities in the Canary Wharf area.

The hotel will comprise an 8-storey building connected via a triple height glass atrium to the base of the development's iconic 30 storey 'Ontario Tower'.  Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), the hotel will have a curved glass, stainless steel and terracotta façade to complement the development's existing buildings and a contemporary interior designed by Aukett.

The hotel will include comprehensive facilities including the East River Spa (gym and treatment rooms), a bar and restaurant with river views and outdoor dining, as well as a full range of business facilities including conference, meeting and banqueting rooms catering for up to 200 guests.  All meeting rooms have natural daylight and state of the art audio visual facilities.

The hotel forms a significant component of New Providence Wharf, Ballymore's mixed-use scheme which already includes over 700 residential apartments with ancillary health and leisure suite and a further 300 or so to follow in future phases together also with shops and offices.
