The champagne is flowing in the May Fair Bar as it celebrates being voted 'Best Hotel Bar' by readers of the Evening Standard and the London Lite.
It is the first time that the bar, located in the May Fair Hotel, has been nominated for this prestigious award, which was announced at the Brahma London Club & Bar Awards.
Bar Manager and Head Mixologist, Marios Elias commented: "To win this accolade when we were up
against such tough and established competition is a great achievement. Since re-launching last year, the team has been working hard to create an atmosphere that attracts both hotel guests and clientele from all over London and I'm so pleased that our hard work has paid off and has been recognised."
The May Fair Bar offers a chic atmosphere combined with a sumptuous selection of over 40 cocktails, including one of the most expensive cocktails in London - the May Fair Martini - at £250 per glass (made with Richard Hennessey cognac, vanilla infused sugar, almond essence, black cherry essence and Moet & Chandon).
As well as the classics, Marios and his team are renowned for their own innovations, using only the freshest, natural ingredients, such as the Kick Shot (cucumber vodka, ginger, chilli and passion fruit sugar) and Jamaican Dream (Myers's dark and mellow rum, lychees, coconut milk and mint leaves).
To complement the look and feel of the bar, a series of live DJ nights take place every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, from 8pm until 1am, with sets performed by some of the UK's leading DJs including Dan Bewick, Jamie Richards, DJ Urban Soldier and DJ Tobie.
British tapas-style food is also served at the May Fair Bar throughout the day and night.
