ExCel

ExCel is an international conference and exhibition centre in London's Docklands. Each year this award-winning venue hosts a dazzling array of sporting, music, and business events. Conveniently located for Canary Wharf and City Airport, it has excellent transport links to the rest of London.

ExCel was built on the site of the historic Royal Victoria Shipyard, opened by Prince Albert in 1855. The ExCel Centre was opened in November 2000 and has become a landmark development in the regeneration of London's Docklands.

The Olympic Park for the 2012 London Olympic Games is just 1.5 miles from ExCeL, in Stratford. ExCel will also host six Olympic events and five Paralympic sports. Eurostar connections from mainland Europe are due to commence from Stratford International Station in 2009, and ExCel will have a new DLR (Docklands Light Railway) station to complete the link.

ExCel's waterfront setting affords stunning views of the Thames and London's skyline. There are six on-site hotels and over thirty bars and restaurants. ExCel has a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station called ExCel which links it to London's tube. Underground tickets are valid on the DLR. You can also travel to ExCel on the DLR from London City Airport.

Earl's Court and Olympia

Earls Court, Olympia and the Brewery are award-winning entertainment and exhibition venues right in the heart of London. Between them, they attract over three million people to over 1,000 events every year. One in two Londoners visit the venues each year.

Earls Court One opened in 1937. Situated in west London close to the West End, it's hosted music performances from George Michael, Madonna, Kylie, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Elton John, Rod Stewart, and the Rolling Stones, and is home to the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show, the Great British Beer Festival, and the BRIT Awards. Earls Court Two, which opened in 1991, boasts Europe's largest unsupported roof span.

Olympia opened in 1886 and is located in Kensington. It hosts high profile events including the London International Horse Show, Erotica, and the Ski and Snowboard Show. The Brewery, in the City of London, was part of the Whitbread breweries which opened in 1752. It is now a conference, event, and party venue, and for the past three years it has hosted the Kerrang! Music Awards.

You can book tickets online for most events at Earls Court and Olympia. The closest underground stations are Earls Court and Kensington Olympia. For the Brewery, the nearest tube stations are Barbican and Moorgate.

The O2

The O2, formerly known as The Millenium Dome, is a music and conference venue in Greenwich. This iconic building, with its great dome shape and gigantic steel masts, is both a London landmark and a world class entertainment destination.

The O2 is London's first purpose-built music venue since the Royal Albert Hall in 1871. It contains a live music club (indigO2), an eleven screen multiplex cinema, an exhibition centre (the O2 Bubble), a street of bars, restaurants, and leisure attractions (Entertainment Avenue) and the O2 Arena.

The O2 Arena has played host to a range of music legends including Prince, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Barbra Streisand, and Andrea Bocelli. It also hosts sporting events such as Turbo Tennis and will be a venue for the London 2012 Olympics.

The closest tube station for the O2 is North Greenwich. If you'd prefer to travel by boat, you can also catch a Thames Clipper to the O2 from Waterloo Pier (30 minutes) or London Bridge Pier (20 minutes).
